KIAS Winter School on Lie algebras
2003. 2.10 – 2.13 Room 1423 in KIAS building
_____________________________________________________________________________
In
this winter school, there will be a series of lectures, which introduce the
basic notions of Lie algebras and their representations,
especially Kac-Moody algebras. The topic of this winter school is one of
the essential backgrounds in modern representation theory, which is closely
related to algebraic groups, quantum groups, Hecke algebras and Hall algebras
etc. This school is intended mainly for beginning graduate students and
challenging undergraduate students. The Part I will be based on the book ¡°Introduction
to Quantum groups and Crystal bases¡± (Chapter 1, 2) by J. Hong and S.-J. Kang
(Graduate Studies in Mathematics vol 42). The lectures will be given in Korean.
