The Workshop will take place in the campus of Chonbuk National University (CBNU), Jeonju, Korea.
Jeonju, 240km(144 miles) south of Seoul, is the capital city of Jeonbuk Province. The city is known for its historical and artistic traditions. It is the home of the Yi family, which founded the Joseon Dynasty that ruled the country from 1392 to 1910. Chonbuk National University is located at the corner of Baekjae-Ro and Paldal-Ro. Nearby landmarks are Jeonju Main Stadium and Jeonbuk Bank building. If you come through the Incheon International Airport, the most convenient way to get to Jeonju is to take the Airport Limousine Bus as follows:
1. After arriving at the
Incheon International Airport and passing through the
Customs, you will come to a
large lobby.
You can go to Bus Stop #8A which is just outside the building.
Usually you can buy a bus ticket (25,000 Won)
either in front of the bus or at the counter inside the airport building.
It is probably easier for foreigners to communicate
if you buy the bus ticket at the counter before you get out of the building.
2. Take the bus for Jeonju.
The service is every hour from 6:30 a.m. till 10:30 p.m.
(6:30, 7:30, 8:30,... etc.) Even if you
miss one bus, it is best just to wait for the next one instead of using
some other transportations, which can be very complicated.
3. Make sure you are on the right bus
heading for Jeonju. Be careful not to take buses to "Chongju"
or "Chungju", which are different cities from "Jeonju".
(To make sure, you may want to show to the bus driver
the above map of Korea where "Jeonju" is mark.)
The bus stops at Gimpo (domestic) airport, 63 building in Seoul,
and a city called Iksan close to Jeonju
before it arrives at the final stop, "Hotel Core Riviera".
4. Chonbuk National University
is about 10 minutes' distance by car from the hotel.
To reach Jeonju from Busan, we recommend you to take
Express Bus, which is roughly hourly serviced from
Busan Express Bus Terminal to Jeonju Express Bus Terminal,
from 6:40 to 22:20. It will take about 4 hours,
and the fare is 20,800 WON, except for the last one which
costs 22,900 WON.
If you use a taxi, you may want to print the campus map and show it to the taxi driver to reach the workshop place.
