| Galaxy clusters are among the largest structures which are gravitionally bound. The SDSS data are ideal for studying these galaxy clusters. The central regions of the galaxy clusters are dominated by bright early type galaxies. Early type galaxies in these galaxy clusters are keystones for understanding the formation of massive galaxies. We present a recent study of early type galaxies in nearby galaxy clusters based on various methods, providing strong constraints to the models of massive galaxy formation. | |
